Day 3 Lausanne to Arras

The Svenerator on the shores of Lac Léman at Lausanne. Volvos take no notice of such trifling matters as parking bays.

Customs at the Swiss/French border, Vallorbe.

D road somewhere between Vallorbe and Dijon. This went on for hours though the mountains. It was spectacular. A car slid sideways off the road, ending up in a ditch at a jaunty angle but no-one was hurt.

Back on the autoroute heading for northern France. There were also hours of this, cruise control set to 75 mph and radio set to peculiar French pop musique.

Flemish architecture, Place des Héroes, Arras. A lovely town for the last night's stop. It served as a base for the Welsh guards in WWII.

We had great burgers, chips, ice cream and beers in this restaurant but couldn't tell you what the main meals were like.
